Comparative study between fisher anatomical subunit approximation technique and millard rotation- advancement technique in unilateral cleft lip repair

Introduction: The ideal lip repair is characterized by; the symmetrical shape of nasolabial folds and both alae nose with a natural-looking philtrum Cupid’s bow in static dynamic states, addition to hidden scar.Objective: compare between Fisher anatomical subunit approximation technique Millard rotational advancement unilateral cleft repair.Methods: Prospective study for 40 patients presented Alexandria Main University hospital deformity March 2019 October 2020. Twenty were repaired by technique, while other twenty rotational-advancement technique. postoperative photographs captured processed computer photogrammetry software through which anthropometric parameters including (lip height, width, vermilion alar base width) compared normal side side. In this software, each parameter length on taken as control fixed value (1) then same was measured ratio avoid bias. Comparison groups assessment quality also done based Steffensen grading criteria.Results: techniques showed that there no significant difference them measurements. While comparison two using criteria Fisher’s surpassed Millard’s technique.Conclusion: We recommend use its superior results over
